Ms. Colleen McNamara
Colleen McNamara grew up on the southern shore of Long Island, New York. Moving out to Arizona to first attend the Univeristy of Arizona studying Veterinary Science and later moving to Phoenix to pursue her next degree in Education. She began teaching in Paradise Valley and moved over to Deer Valley in 2005. She is certified in both Elementary Education and Middle School Social Studies and has taught Social Studies in the 6th grade classroom for 10 years, 6 of them as an IB-MYP Individuals and Society teacher. Colleen recieved her Masters of Ed. for Curriculum & Instruction in 2015 from Grand Canyon University. In 2016 she left the classroom and is working as the K-12 Social Studies Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Specialist for DVUSD. Colleen enjoys traveling to all the places she teaches about and spending time with her family and friends.
