Report cards are issued quarterly. K-6 schools in the Deer Valley Unified School District now use Standards Reporting.

How Is a Standards Reporting Card Different?
On traditional report cards students receive one grade per subject. On a standards reporting report card, each subject area is divided into a list of skills and knowledge that students are responsible for learning. In addition to the traditional grade, students receive a separate mark for each standard.

How Is My Student's Progress Measured?
With a standards reporting approach, teachers evaluate student learning using classroom observation, student’s classroom work and formative and summative assessments. The combination of these pieces of evidence when reviewed with parents provides a more detailed picture of student progress. It tells the parent what the student can do and to what degree. This in turn leads to identification of direction for the student and future learning goals.

    We're Going Green!
The Deer Valley Unified School District is dedicated to contributing to a sustainable future for our planet through reducing consumption, reusing what we have and recycling what we can. This philosophy includes conserving natural resources. To support this, in lieu of printing quarterly report cards, parents/guardians and students will use PowerSchools to check students’ grades. If you are a parent/guardian or student who would like to receive a hard copy of the report card during this year, please contact the school. Parents/guardians and students may continue to request copies of unofficial transcripts from the school at any time.
