Hello! I cannot wait to partner with you and your child for this coming year. Each year has challenges, highlights, and every day in between. I have a passion for teaching and can't pass up the adventure this year will bring.
I must really love adventure because I have been a teacher for 18 years, from K-8th grade in a variety of places, including Sedona and Minnesota, and now here in Anthem. I love being a 5th-grade teacher here! As a dual-certified teacher, I have experience in general and special education classrooms and working with gifted students. I hold National Board Certification in the area of Exceptional Needs Specialist. I firmly believe that every child has great potential to learn and that it is my job to help find the motivation to help them be successful.
I am fortunate to have two children of my own. I have a 12-year-old daughter who will who enjoys basketball, dancing, math, and anything social. My son will be starting 11th grade this year (I can't believe it...time flies too quickly). He has muscular dystrophy and uses a powerchair to zoom around. He is super artistic and has the BEST sense of humor!
When I get the opportunity, I enjoy spending time with my family and dogs, painting, writing, reading, hiking, and salsa dancing.
