• But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling like dew, upon a thought,

produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions, think. - Lord Byron

    A Little Bit About Me:
My educational background is that of a Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree from Northern Arizona University and I also hold a Reading Specialist Endorsement and a community college teaching certificate. In December of 2017, I officially achieved my status as a National Board Certified Teacher. I am thrilled to be an adjunct professor for Rio Salado College teaching ENG 101/102 and ENH 110 for dual enrollment on Mountain Ridge's campus. I have previously taught ELA (English Language Arts) 7-8,  ELA 5-6, Reading, Advanced Study Skills, ENH 259 (American Indian Literature) and ENH 241/ENH 242 (American Literature Before and After 1860). This is my 28th year teaching, with 27 years at Mountain Ridge High School.

I am honored to have been named a  Deer Valley Unified School District Teacher of the Year, PRIDE District winner, Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Award winner for Rio Salado College, Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Award Winner for the Maricopa County Community College District, an inductee to the NCA Circle of Excellence for the State of Arizona, and in 2016 was named a Deer Valley Unified School District Demonstration Classroom of Excellence Teacher.

Outside of the classroom, I love to travel, and I have been lucky enough to have spent time wandering through Europe, New Zealand, and Australia, and also have spent quality time dipping my toes in crystal-blue waters throughout the Caribbean. I like to think I am an artist and I love painting and photography.  I am also a fervent Ohio State Buckeyes fan - (GO BUCKS!)
